iStockphoto.comWhat does it take to have a magnetic personality? Do you naturally attract the opposite sex and constantly have people gravitate towards you?
Difficulty Level: Easy
Women like humorous men, especially attractive humorous men. What makes a guy an attractive humorous person? Someone who can crack relevant and cunning jokes at the right moment and the right place. This requires good timing and an understanding of what is “funny” to people. This goes way beyond elementary jokes or corny pick-up lines. But it can be as easy as making a funny face at a woman and smiling (for a good reason). There are levels of how funny a guy is:
Avoid Dry Humor:
This is typically the guy who sits in the background waiting to crack a joke. When he opens his mouth his words are meaningless and throws people off. He tries too hard and comes off as “odd” or “awkward”. Is highly susceptible to being made fun of, and rarely goes home with a woman.
Typical Phrases:
“Hahaha, I see you noticed my different color socks that I wore today… social experiment… to see if anyone was color blind.”
“Oh, the waiter gave us our check early.. the early bird gets the special.. wonder if we get a discount if we eat faster, hahaha.”
“I don’t drink and drive, unless it’s non-alcoholic, hahaha.”
Avoid the Comedian:
This tool doesn’t know when to stop with the jokes and constantly interrupts people when they are talking. They might imitate comedians or actors from a show, or use their “movie” knowledge to converse with others. He always jumps in between conversations with his annoying voice and centers his gravity on trying to make everyone laugh. This guy could be a stand-up comedian, but not a ladies man.
Typical Phrases:
“Wait, what sign are you? Sorry to interrupt but you and I are the same sign! Uh-oh we have double trouble…”
“Im Rick James… hahaha, continue…”
“Neva touch a black-man’s radio… haha… Chris…Tucker…”
Avoid the Middle Man:
This dude likes to butt into conversations and pretend he knows what he’s talking about. Occasionally he’ll try to crack a joke but the moment has gone away and he’s left alone in his own thoughts. This guy likes to be in the “middle” of the group and feel important, when in reality nobody cares about him. He attempts to socialize but is not successful and wonders why he goes home alone.
Typical Phrases:
“What was that? Oh, I see… did you say you were older than her or younger again?”
“Haha, that’s funny… what are you guys talking about?”
“I heard you like dogs, do you have one? Oh cool, cool… I used to have a dog, but we had to put it down…”
Now that we’ve covered what NOT to do, here’s some tips on what you CAN do. First of all, you need to relax, clear your mind and stop worrying about making people laugh. You should not be planning to make others laugh, that’s like planning to stay awake while driving. You just do it. What is funny? What is only funny to you? Now what types of things are funny to people no matter what culture they are from, or what language they speak? What is the one language that everyone speaks? Body language. One of the most funniest thing you can do is use body language to make a woman laugh. Don’t be stiff, don’t be scared. Become animated and have fun with your surroundings. Here’s a few styles you can choose from:
The Smooth Talker:
This guy likes to touch women to show how friendly and affectionate he is. But he does it in a subtle way that is enough to get the girl’s attention, but not enough to creep her out. He uses his hands to slightly touch the small of her back and lightly bump into her and pretends he didn’t mean it. He grabs her hand when walking through a crowd and puts his hands on her waist when in line. This guy uses humor to make the woman feel comfortable and uses body language to seduce her. He’s easy to talk to, compliments the woman, and his jokes are aimed towards her sexual side.
Typical Phrases:
“Damn, you smell good, girl…”
“Hey, why do you look so cute tonight?”
“How about I cook dinner for you Friday night? My place, around 7?”
The Play Thing:
This guy always plays around with women and is always fun to be around. He’ll make fun of the woman, tease her, pinch her, and even tickle her. He cracks jokes on the woman but follows up with a funny gesture that immediately shows her that he is playing with her. This guy also uses sexual tension to get a woman attracted to him but not letting her have what she wants up front. He’ll steal her purse and say, “If men don’t need purses, women shouldn’t either.” and make her give him a massage before he gives it back. He’ll also do things like hold her hand for a few seconds, then push it away and say, “Please, we’ve just met, I know you like me, but slow down…” then while she has a confused look in her face he’ll grab her hand again and just keep walking without cracking a smile.
Typical Phrases:
“Whoa, did you grab my ass? I saw your hand and I know you like me, but damn.”
“Well hellll-oooo”
“Ok, if you’re good tonight I might let you hold my hand…’if’ you’re good.”
The Mysterious Role:
This guy plays it safe by only allowing a woman to know certain things about him, keeping her wondering. He never gives a straight answer but instead says something catchy and reverts the question back to her. He’s very interesting and thinks before he speaks. When asked what do you do for a living, he replies, “I’m a gigolo part time, and I like to sky dive without a parachute on the weekends”. The goal for this guy is to not lay it all out on the table on the first date, but to instead build her attraction for him so she’ll come back for more.
Typical Phrases:
“Yes, I majored in sex ed, it was a breeze.”
“How old am I? Old enough.” =)
“I like long walks on the beach and red wine, what about you?”
Conclusion:
Being playful is an easy art to master, if you just practice. After all, we all have our own way of being funny and charming, so find your way. You don’t necessarily have to be good looking to charm a girl, but you do need to have a playful attitude that can connect to her sexual side, somehow.
